GC L-Arginine
GC L-Arginine Injection is a specialized solution designed for medical use in managing acute exacerbation of hyperammonemia and as a diagnostic aid in measuring growth hormone secretion. Formulated with L-Arginine Hydrochloride, this injection serves as an effective treatment in cases where oral administration is insufficient or in specific medical conditions requiring precise intervention.
Indications and Effects:
- Reduces blood ammonia concentration in cases of:
- Congenital urea cycle disorders (e.g., Carbamyl phosphate synthetase deficiency, Ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency)
- Arginosuccinate synthetase deficiency, Arginosuccinate lyase deficiency, and lysinuric protein intolerance
- Acts as an acidifying agent for severe metabolic alkalosis
- Assists in pituitary function tests to measure growth hormone secretion, in combination or as an alternative to insulin-induced hypoglycemia tests
Uses and Dosage:
- Hyperammonemia Management: Administer 0.2–1g of L-Arginine hydrochloride per kg of body weight intravenously over 1 hour for acute control.
- Acidifying Agent: L-Arginine dosage is calculated based on plasma bicarbonate concentration reduction and the patient's body weight.
- Growth Hormone Testing: Administer 500 mg of L-Arginine hydrochloride per kg of body weight as a 10% solution via intravenous drip over 30 minutes.
Diagnostic Method:
- Conduct the test in the morning after fasting, ensuring the patient lies down and rests for at least 30 minutes.
- Blood collection is scheduled at intervals of 0, 30, 60, 90, 120, and 150 minutes for accurate monitoring.
Ingredients:
- L-Arginine Hydrochloride 0.6g/mL
Package Unit:
- Available in 25 mL vials, with 10 vials per package
Important Note:
The GC L-Arginine Injection should only be administered by healthcare professionals in a controlled medical environment. It plays a crucial role in managing complex metabolic disorders and provides reliable support in diagnosing growth hormone deficiencies.
