Xeomin 100 Units
Xeomin 100 Units
Xeomin 100 Units (IncobotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved medication, similar to Botox and Dysport, manufactured by Merz Company. It's the first clinically proven anti-wrinkle injection, uniquely purified to remove unnecessary proteins, and is used to temporarily improve moderate to severe glabellar lines in adult patients with corrugator and/or procerus muscle activity.
The active ingredient in Xeomin is botulinum toxin type A. It can be injected into glands to treat chronic drooling and into muscles to address various conditions such as upper limb spasticity, cervical dystonia, blepharospasm, and moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.
Side effects of Xeomin may include muscle weakness, double vision, blurred vision, drooping eyelids, hoarseness, trouble speaking clearly, loss of bladder control, difficulty breathing, and swallowing.
After Xeomin 100 Units injection, it's advised to avoid touching the face with water for an hour, refrain from taking certain anti-inflammatory drugs for a week, and avoid facial massage, hot compress, and certain foods for a month. Results typically last 8-14 months, with noticeable effects appearing about a month after injection.
An advantage of Xeomin is its protein-free formulation, reducing the risk of antibody formation and allowing for storage at room temperature for up to three years.
